Set it up Sunday!

Well week one is over and I have to say I am feeling so much better now that I'm getting back on track with everything!! How did everyone else's week go??


 So here is this week's goals: (I am going to keep them the same this week)

 Monday - 6am: gym (cardio) 
 Tuesday - 6am: gym (weight training) 
 Wednesday - 6am: gym (cardio) 
 Thursday - 6am: gym (weight training) 
 Friday - Rest 
 Saturday - Gym (cardio) 
 Sunday - Gym (cardio & weight training)

Fit and Fabulous Friday!

So I couldn't make it to the gym today. Whatever I did yesterday really messed up my ankle. It hurts! But I did start the #plankaday challenge. Anyone want to join??? Make sure you're following me on twitt.er! Today was day 2 and I'm not doing to bad, IMO.

Day 1: 
Not to bad for a beginning start to a plank. I tried REALLY hard to push for a whole minute but I just couldn't do it. And it didn't help that the dog was trying so hard to get underneath just to lick my face. LOL (Gotta love furbabies) 







      

Day 2:

Added 1.8 seconds today. It's a slow and steady increase!! :) 



So how is everyone doing so far this week? Ready for the weekend? Just remember to even though its the weekend, its not a time to take "time off". I won't lie; weekends are the hardest for me but I make sure I'm conscious of what I'm doing on the weekends. Any big plans? This weekend is going to be really hard for me though because we are starting to get into county fairs and festival times. I'm going to make sure that I have healthy snacks in my purse to avoid the greasy, fried "bad for you stuff".

Weigh in Wednesday and mini challenge

Today was the first time that I've stepped on a scale in 68 days. I knew and was fully prepared for a HUGE gain. To much surprise it was only a 9.9 lb which averages about a 0.14 lbs a day. I don't think that's too bad considering it's been 68 days. Now I know what where I need to start and what needs to be done to get back to were I was. Within the last 68 days I have watched what I've ate during the day but I've also enduldged in ice cream and had some grownup beverages and with the enduldges I knew there would be a gain. I'm actually not that upset about this gain because it could have been a lot more of a gain... Which is really what I expected.

I made it to the gym today. A little later than I wanted but I made it and I did 4 miles in 22 minutes on the stationary bike. Not a bad time for just getting back into the swing of things. Tomorrow its time to hit a weights in the morning.

Here is a mini challenge for you. Are you ready?
Eat a piece of fruit with every meal. Most people don't think about having fruit with meals except breakfast.. try it today with breakfast, lunch, and dinner! So today's schedule was to hit up the weights at the gym. Last minute there was a schedule change and so today was used as my rest day instead of Friday. No worries. Just a slight bump in this week's schedule.

Tomorrow it's back to hitting the gym for some cardio.

Motivational Monday




Got to the gym this morning by 610! Go me! It felt amazing getting back into the gym and working out. Go big or go home was my motto today. I jumped right back into the swing of things with 30 mins on the elliptical. Just making it back to the gym has given me so much energy today. I forgot how good it feels during the day and how productive I am after getting to the gym in the morning. 

Today's good eats include: 
Breakfast - protein bar
Lunch - ham wrap and cauliflower
Dinner - homemade chicken fried rice
Snack - celery and pb spread and plum
With my beverage of choice only being water today.

I won't do my first official weigh in until Wednesday. I used to weigh in everyday but the fluctuation of the scale was more frustrating that helpful for myself. When do you weigh in? Daily? Weekly? When it crosses your mind?

Tomorrow is weight training at the gym! What is your personal goal for this week?
My Goal: Stick with the schedule and remember it didn't come on over night...it won't come off over night!

Word Press Anyone?

Thinking of making a wordpress blog too. Anyone have any experience with it?

Hello World!

Wow! It's been FOREVER!

I can't say I fell off the wagon totally. I have been so busy with life that being at the gym and updating this blog has become almost non-existent. I feel horrible! I have come to realize that I need to start back. I felt so much better during the day when I was blogging and working out in the morning. I am still watching what I'm eating and also my calorie intake. I can't say I haven't had cheat meals/days but I feel that they are okay as long as you don't take it overboard. If you give up EVERYTHING you will never succeed. (in my opinion!!!!)  


So jumping back on the wagon and going full speed ahead. I can't change what has been done but I can only look towards the future. I want to be able to give myself a healthy lifestyle change forever..not just when it's convenient.

I have recently applied to become a FitFluential Ambassador in hopes that I can be motivation for someone else who is just starting out in a new lifestyle change of their own. I want to be able to show others through my blog, twitter and pinterest how this isn't a diet it's a lifestyle. So keep your fingers crossed that I am accepted!!! XX

Warning: Contains Venting!



I get so frustrated when people say "this isn't working" "i'm not losing anything"...etc. We have all heard those words and may have even said them ourselves. (i have!) But it's the ones that sit there with a big.mac in one hand and fries in the other saying that! Well now when you have 1300 calories in one sitting while your not doing any type of exercise (other than everyday activities) IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK! The ones that want that simple pill that will make all the fat away. I don't understand. Life is not simple. Why take the easy way out? Why not work for something that you want so much?

I am by NO MEANS saying I am a professional or have not have rough days or even the slightest bit perfect!!! I have and will continue to have because it's my lifestyle not just a diet. If I have a rough day, I realize that I just need to put forth more effort the next day. I just get so frustrated with people complaining but yet they are not putting forth an effort.

Put forth the effort! Watch what you eat. Eat at home. Drink your water. Portion Control. Get out and get your body moving. It will take time and dedication but you have to work for it!

Week 3 - Motivational Monday!




Since my last post I have come to realize the motivation that I was lacking will just have to come back full force. It's time to GO BIG..or go home! Im GOING BIG! I took the first step today to get my motivation back and made it to the gym this morning by 7am! Go me! I am also heading back for another round at the gym today after the littles leave.

So as you may (or may not) notice, I did weigh in today..almost forgot! So I weighed in after breakfast this morning and about 3 hours later then normal. (shame! shame!) So I'm not sure how accurate this weigh in will be but it is a  -.4lbs so I'm happy with it either way. I am determined to do more then a .something next Monday!

The plan of attack for this week is:

Motivation...Where are you?

I am losing motivation. I'm losing the drive I had to get to the gym. I'm still eating semi good but there are days where I feel like I can't get full or even content enough after a meal.

I hate feeling like this. It makes me feel HORRIBLE. I just hope that motivation will come back to me SOON!!!

Week Two: Getting Back On Track




Down .2 lbs since last week. Not bad since all I did was eat and not exercise last week. (Thank you AF!)

Today is time to get back on track after last week!!

This week's goals:
-stay under 1300 calories (Are you on MyFitnessPal?)
-get back to my eating schedule
-Gym Days: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
-30 Day Shred Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
-at least 64 oz of water
-lose this weight I have gained back!!! (the most important)

Yes, that's a 2.9 lb gain. Why? I would like to thank AF for being here with a vengeance. I am so bloated and it sucks. With the way that AF is; there is NO way I can get to the gym until she is gone. Let's hope that this month she doesn't want to stay long! :(

Day 1: Over and Out!



How did you do today on the first day of the Get Fit Coast to Coast Challenge?

Here's what my day looked like:
Breakfast -
1c multigrain cheerios
1/2c strawberries

Morning Snack-
Mozzarella Cheese Stick
Low fat S'mores granola bar

Lunch -
1 1/4c Asian Salad
1oz Veggie Straws

Dinner - 
1 1/4c Asian Salad
Peanut Butter and Tortilla roll up

Total Calories: 1204

I also made it to the gym today, even though it wasn't a planned gym day. BONUS! I did a 30 min cardio session. 15 mins on the treadmill fluctuation between 3.5 and 4.0mph and 15 mins on the elliptical. According to MFP if I would eat like today everyday I would lose 15 lbs in 5 weeks. Lets see how accurate it is!

Get Fit Challenge: Week 1



Today starts the Get Fit Coast to Coast Challenge! If you haven't signed up yet...DO IT!

I am determined to get through this challenge and put 150% into it. I will be on MFP (myfitnesspal) everyday so if you there let me know! The more motivation and friends the easier, right?!

Here are some of the things I want to do during this challenge:


  • at least 64oz of water a day
  • gym 4 days a week for at least an hour
  • limit my carbs during the day
  • 30 day shred - EVERYDAY!

Check in




So far so good. Only 5 days into April and I am heading in the right direction. I have made it to the gym 2 days so far. (my goal is 16 days total) and the challenge starts Monday, which I am ECSTATIC for! Dont forget it check it out..hurry and sign up! Get Fit Coast to Coast

I actually made it to the gym THIS morning by 730am! I was so proud of myself. I think its going to become a routine for me on days that the littles come later. I know I won't be able to make it on the days they are early because getting to the gym by 6am and then chasing a 17 month old around and a 3 year old around all day long isn't going to be a good combination for my patience that day! LOL I know that may sound like I'm setting myself up for failure already but its just being realistic. The littles  need my patience to be at 110%!

Boy it felt good





to be back at the gym today!! It was actually busy today for a Saturday mid morning workout. I was there for almost an hour and did 35 mins on the treadmill at a 3.7mph pace and 10 mins fluctuating between 2.5 and 3.0mph. I also did 10 m ins for strength training.

I can't wait to get back tomorrow morning again!

This week sucks!

Thanks to AF! I refuse to weigh in this week and I have been having a HARD time staying out of the kitchen. I've been trying to fill my cravings with healthy foods (ie. fruits and veggies) but nothing sounds as good or would taste as good as a KING SIZE candy bar right now!! BUT kudos to me, I have not succumb to that craving yet and I do not plan on it. I am totally slacked off with the gym this week b/c I feel like total ass. My thoughts on this is, its one week. I am still watching what I eat and not gorging myself during meals. I can make it up next week.


This is my life, not a diet. I can do this! Its one day at a time....

2 months ago






I started the transformation to a new me. It started as a weight loss journey but shortly after starting, I realized that it's not a weight loss journey; its a lifestyle change! I welcomed these changes with portion control, staying under my calorie intake and also making the gym part of my daily routine.

Side note: I have NEVER been one to go to the gym!

I made it my goal everyday to really watch when I put into my body. I don't want to be the skinniest girl in the world. I want to be healthy. I want to feel good in and out of my clothes. I also make it a point to log into My Fitness Pal (MFP) to track my food everyday. It makes me accountable for what I'm putting into my body and how many calories I have to go so I can make healthy choices during the day.

This journey will not always be easy, as I have come to find out, but as long as I keep telling myself that this journey is a lifestyle change and its a slow and steady one, I think KNOW I can do it!


With that said, because today was a very exciting weigh in! I am officially 13lbs down!!

Not budging..

All week the scale has not moved AT ALL!

I really hope that by Friday its moved at least a little b/c Friday is my 2 month anniversary of this new lifestyle that I am embracing.

I've been really busy trying to get ready for DH to come home and I know its not an excuse but when the littles don't leave until 430 (or later) the gym hasn't been in my daily plans. I believe that's why the scale has stayed the same. 


I am making a point to go twice on Thursday (or at least for double the amount, if I only get there once) and Saturday and Sunday are a definite go. Its just frustrating to myself b/c I know I can do better but I haven't seen DH in a month and there are things around the house I want done before he gets home. gah! I should have taken this week off!!!
